Oh boy, your boyfriend’s birthday is coming up and you don’t know what to get him. It is tough finding gifts for men! You are asking yourself: “What is a good birthday gift for my boyfriend!” You have no idea where to go looking, or what to go looking for, because you really don’t have anything in mind yet for starters. And that date is creeping up on you very quickly now. So let me give you THE BEST idea yet, because it’s something that I did for my guy, and he was bowled over by it. He has been wearing it proudly ever since I gave it to him. I gave it to him for his 25th birthday and you can do it for his birthday as well. But if you are looking for something to give him for Valentine’s Day for instance, or maybe for Christmas, this gift is awesome for any occasion or celebration. It all depends on you and whether you are still wondering what to surprise him with.
Here is my true story.
My boyfriend, Christopher, works in construction, and is a real macho sort of guy. He loves his work outdoors and handling the big machines. He’s got great muscles and a nice body from all that hard physical work. And the work is stead, plus the money is good. But he also likes some of the finer things in life, so he often treats me to nice dinners, going to concerts and every once in a while we go a long weekend at a nice resort. I love all that pampering, of course, but felt that I wanted to do something especially for him as well. We had been in an exclusive relationship for over a year and were quite committed to one another. But we were not ready yet to tie the knot.
When he gets home from working his construction jobs, his often is covered with dust and his clothes can look grimy to boot. He doesn’t stay like that for long because he transforms into a totally different person then. Especially on the weekends when there are a couple of days where he dresses up to go out and have a good time. He enjoys that total transformation from being the guy dressed in coveralls and steel-toed boots during the week, to the man clad in designer jeans and shirts on his days off.
On one of those days, when we were at a party with some of his buddies, I heard him say something about how he liked a ring that one of the other guys was wearing. I did not know that Christopher liked men’s jewelry until I heard that comment of his. And that is when it hit me. Why not give him a nice piece of jewelry for his birthday. His 25th was coming up in a month or so, and I had been wondering what to get him anyway. The solution was staring me in the face. Bingo! A ring, of course!
So I went shopping and started looking at a lot of rings. I was amazed at the selection that is available in men’s rings. Some I saw were studded with diamonds, rubies, or other precious and semi-precious stones. Some were in yellow gold, white gold, Black Hills gold, or sterling silver and platinum. Those were the outrageously expensive ones and mostly out of reach of my pocket. Besides, those were not the ones that Christopher would want, I was sure. They were too showy, too ornate, and too ostentatious. They were not what he is about. So I went shopping some more and looked at totally different styles and rings made from something else besides gold or silver. Something created from other alloys that would fit Christopher’s personality and style. One jeweler recommended that I look at Tungsten rings, which I had not done before. I found out that tungsten is the hardest metal on earth. It is a heavy metal that is found at the site of ancient volcanic eruptions. Apparently tungsten rings are quite popular because they are so different and unique. So I went looking and once I started concentrating on finding a tungsten ring for Christopher’s birthday present, I discovered that there really are some stunning collections available. The styles range from the more classic types of rings to more contemporary designs. At first I had a hard time deciding which one to choose; there were so many to choose from at different price ranges. But I finally selected a beautiful, very macho-looking, yet quite elegant ring that would suit Christopher to a T, I was sure. The one I selected had a narrow wood inlay over the tungsten, which gave the metal that extra subtle sense of a fine artistic design. This ring had no shiny, showy bling, nor was it ornate or really fancy. It combined that strong metal look with a classy imprint of carefully inlaid wood. This personified exactly what Christopher is all about: strong and classy. I knew then and there that I had THE gift for my guy, and no longer did I have to ask myself: What shall I get for my boyfriend for his birthday. I bought it, had it wrapped in a beautiful little box, and waited for a couple of weeks until the day I could surprise my number one man with this awesome gift.
Personalized Gifts Are The Way To Go
When I gave the ring to Christopher on his 25th birthday, he could not get over the fact that I had picked something that was so “him.” He oohed and aahed over it and told me over and over again how much he loved me and how this was the best gift he had ever gotten in his life. You can imagine how that made me feel. Right?
So, if you are still wondering what to get your guy for his special day, get out there and find that one ring that your man will cherish and love you forever for. There are dozens of rings available for that special man in your life without having to spend a fortune. Yet they are really cool and not cheap looking. You can find modestly priced rings for bikers, for guys who like “Sons of Anarchy,” or even for those who like the gothic look. Or for guys, like Christopher, who enjoy the outdoors and physical work, yet are classy and elegant as well. Go out and buy something nice for the guy who makes you happy. I did and I hit a homerun. And you can too! This would also work for anniversary gifts, Christmas and Valentines Day.
