HOW ABOUT A RING?

Oh boy, your boyfriend’s birthday is coming up and you don’t know what to get him. It is tough finding gifts for men! You are asking yourself: “What is a good birthday gift for my boyfriend!” You have no idea where to go looking, or what to go looking for, because you really don’t have anything in mind yet for starters. And that date is creeping up on you very quickly now. So let me give you THE BEST idea yet, because it’s something that I did for my guy, and he was bowled over by it. He has been wearing it proudly ever since I gave it to him. I gave it to him for his 25th birthday and you can do it for his birthday as well. But if you are looking for something to give him for Valentine’s Day for instance, or maybe for Christmas, this gift is awesome for any occasion or celebration. It all depends on you and whether you are still wondering what to surprise him with.

Here is my true story.

My boyfriend, Christopher, works in construction, and is a real macho sort of guy. He loves his work outdoors and handling the big machines. He’s got great muscles and a nice body from all that hard physical work. And the work is stead, plus the money is good. But he also likes some of the finer things in life, so he often treats me to nice dinners, going to concerts and every once in a while we go a long weekend at a nice resort. I love all that pampering, of course, but felt that I wanted to do something especially for him as well. We had been in an exclusive relationship for over a year and were quite committed to one another. But we were not ready yet to tie the knot.

When he gets home from working his construction jobs, his often is covered with dust and his clothes can look grimy to boot. He doesn’t stay like that for long because he transforms into a totally different person then. Especially on the weekends when there are a couple of days where he dresses up to go out and have a good time. He enjoys that total transformation from being the guy dressed in coveralls and steel-toed boots during the week, to the man clad in designer jeans and shirts on his days off.

On one of those days, when we were at a party with some of his buddies, I heard him say something about how he liked a ring that one of the other guys was wearing. I did not know that Christopher liked men’s jewelry until I heard that comment of his. And that is when it hit me. Why not give him a nice piece of jewelry for his birthday. His 25th was coming up in a month or so, and I had been wondering what to get him anyway. The solution was staring me in the face. Bingo! A ring, of course!

So I went shopping and started looking at a lot of rings. I was amazed at the selection that is available in men’s rings. Some I saw were studded with diamonds, rubies, or other precious and semi-precious stones. Some were in yellow gold, white gold, Black Hills gold, or sterling silver and platinum. Those were the outrageously expensive ones and mostly out of reach of my pocket. Besides, those were not the ones that Christopher would want, I was sure. They were too showy, too ornate, and too ostentatious. They were not what he is about. So I went shopping some more and looked at totally different styles and rings made from something else besides gold or silver. Something created from other alloys that would fit Christopher’s personality and style. One jeweler recommended that I look at Tungsten rings, which I had not done before. I found out that tungsten is the hardest metal on earth. It is a heavy metal that is found at the site of ancient volcanic eruptions. Apparently tungsten rings are quite popular because they are so different and unique. So I went looking and once I started concentrating on finding a tungsten ring for Christopher’s birthday present, I discovered that there really are some stunning collections available. The styles range from the more classic types of rings to more contemporary designs. At first I had a hard time deciding which one to choose; there were so many to choose from at different price ranges. But I finally selected a beautiful, very macho-looking, yet quite elegant ring that would suit Christopher to a T, I was sure. The one I selected had a narrow wood inlay over the tungsten, which gave the metal that extra subtle sense of a fine artistic design. This ring had no shiny, showy bling, nor was it ornate or really fancy. It combined that strong metal look with a classy imprint of carefully inlaid wood. This personified exactly what Christopher is all about: strong and classy. I knew then and there that I had THE gift for my guy, and no longer did I have to ask myself: What shall I get for my boyfriend for his birthday. I bought it, had it wrapped in a beautiful little box, and waited for a couple of weeks until the day I could surprise my number one man with this awesome gift.

Personalized Gifts Are The Way To Go

When I gave the ring to Christopher on his 25th birthday, he could not get over the fact that I had picked something that was so “him.” He oohed and aahed over it and told me over and over again how much he loved me and how this was the best gift he had ever gotten in his life. You can imagine how that made me feel. Right?

So, if you are still wondering what to get your guy for his special day, get out there and find that one ring that your man will cherish and love you forever for. There are dozens of rings available for that special man in your life without having to spend a fortune. Yet they are really cool and not cheap looking. You can find modestly priced rings for bikers, for guys who like “Sons of Anarchy,” or even for those who like the gothic look. Or for guys, like Christopher, who enjoy the outdoors and physical work, yet are classy and elegant as well. Go out and buy something nice for the guy who makes you happy. I did and I hit a homerun. And you can too!  This would also work for anniversary gifts, Christmas and Valentines Day.

Read This For Amazing But Good Christmas Gifts For Boyfriends

This year I want to do something entirely different and fun with my boyfriend for Christmas.  We have given each other the usual kinds of gifts the past few years.  You know: a nice piece of jewelry, a new “toy,” (I-phone, I-pad, etc.), a new electric razor for him and a lovely new leather purse for me.  I have been thinking about what to do this year and came up with a great idea that I know we both will just love.  And if you ladies out there are also planning to do something different with your man for Christmas this year, let me suggest you try what we are doing.  We are going on a vaycay, but this is not the ordinary week-end getaway sort of thing.  It is something that combines the totally different ideas my boyfriend and I have about the outdoors.

My boyfriend Jason is the type who loves camping and the outdoors.  He loves communing with nature and listening to birds chirping away in the early morning hours.  He enjoys the serenity of quiet evenings sitting by a camp fire inhaling fresh woodsy air, away from city noises and smells.  You get the idea, right?  An honest-to-goodness nature lover.

I, on the other hand, like to be “outdoors,” but in a different kind of way.  Give me small boutique hotels with their all-inclusive services.  I like to “commune” with spa offerings and being pampered with massages and exotic fragrances.  That is really more my style.  So you wonder how we get along.  Well, I have gone camping with him, of course, because we do love to spend time together when we do enjoy each others company.  We really have a lot in common in many other areas.  But camping and going without a proper shower and making do with a “spit bath” is not my idea of enjoying the state of “au naturel.”  Besides, sleeping in a sleeping bag is for me not the most comfortable way of getting a good night’s rest.  Mind you, I am not complaining.  I just feel that there may be some other enjoyable ways to spend a few long leisurely relaxing days with your special man.  And I have to confess that my boyfriend has made special efforts to please me.  Like, for my last birthday he treated me to a weekend at a nice resort-type hotel where I indulged in all the hotel’s amenities.  That spa treatment I mentioned, and the massage; well I just loved all of that.  But I could sense that he would have loved to be outdoors with me, camping, roasting marshmallows, traipsing over to the outdoor “showers,” and waking up to the sound of early bird songs right outside our tent.

My friends at work, who know both of us well, asked if I had heard or read anything about “glamping.”  Well, I had not and did not know the first thing about it.  What in the world is “glamping?”  When I found out what it meant, it not only got me excited, but it also thrilled me to have found something that both my boyfriend and I can enjoy.  We can have a camping AND hotel-stay experience at the same time.  This is an “outdoors” adventure we both will enjoy; it is something that will satisfy both our different ideas of a great get-away.

So here is what I learned about glamping.

Glamping is the ONLY way to combine the wish for camping in a tent WITH the need to have all amenities of hotel service thrown into the outdoors experience.  It is a glamorous way of camping in luxury.  Glamping is being outdoors, sleeping in a “tent,” not in a sleeping bag, but in a proper bed (some even can be four-poster beds). It is waking up to the music of birds chirping while taking a nice warm shower.   You have the option of an adjacent, albeit small bathroom.  No more walking over to the communal bathroom where you may have to stand in line waiting for the next person to come out.   Glamping will give you electricity for lighting, instead of having to use oil lamps or lanterns.  You will have easy chairs in which to enjoy roasted marshmallows, instead of sitting on the ground.  You have every need you may wish all contained in your own luxury “tent.”  And waking up to bird song in the morning while lingering in a nice warm bed will indeed be music to your ears.

One Of The Most Creative Christmas Gifts For Boyfriend

When I mentioned this idea of glamping to my boyfriend Jason he immediately took to it and we made reservations for Christmas for a 2-night stay.  We found quite a few sites from which to choose.  Some offer only the very basic upgrades, which transport camping into glamping, while others offer “tents” furnished with king-size beds, area rugs on the floor, en-suite bathrooms, nightstands with lovely lamps for late night reading, and much much more.  All these amenities are available in “tents” of all sizes and prices, and most are located in prime wooded camp sites.  We found one that fit our budget and what we wanted most out of this experience.  I am so stoked about this new twist to camping that I even went out and bought a nice safari-looking outfit to complete our maiden glamping adventure.

This Christmas gift to both of us will be a memory we shall love and treasure for a long time.

Love Gifts For Those Three Little Words

What I am writing here is about something that a lot of girls pine for.  They have boyfriends and have been together for almost a year, but they have never heard those magical, wonderful, longed-for three little words.  And they are reluctant to be the first one to have to say them.  They don’t want their guy to feel pressured into making a lasting commitment.  What if those words would drive him away.  Better to wait and hope that he will be the first one to say them.  Guys are funny that way.  Maybe it’s because they don’t think it’s manly to tell their girlfriends that they love them.  Maybe they feel that because they are in an exclusive relationship with a girl, she should know that they actually do love her.  Or it might just be that they are afraid that girls see too much in the meaning of those words; that they are ready to present the girl with an engagement ring and set a wedding date.  They may not like that kind of solid commitment even though they want to spend all their time with you.

So what are you to do?  Continue to wait until eternity while your guy is totally satisfied with the situation as is?  Let it slide and never hear him say the words? Are you willing to do that?  It may be that he feels absolutely certain of your devotion to him, and uttering words that confirm his undying love for you are totally unnecessary.  But think!  Could it possibly be a case of him being shy or not knowing exactly when or where or even how to say those three little words.  If that were the case, and if you are dying for him to say them, then it should be up to you to be the first one to say “I Love You.”

I have gift ideas for boyfriend that is so neat and so subtle that it will take care of any feeling of awkwardness on either side.  This is definitely for girls who want to surprise their boyfriend with those three wonderful, meaningful words.  You can do it for his birthday, or for Valentine’s Day or maybe even for Christmas. This is something that will be a really fantastic and unique gift as well.  He will remember this day forever,  and you will be his all-time hero.  It will even give him bragging rights with his buddies.  And what guy doesn’t love doing just that every once in a while eh?

So this is what you can do.

A month or so in advance of the day you want to present this gift to him, you should contact your local airport and ask around if they know of a company that does banner towing from an airplane.  The information desk at many airports may even have business cards available of such companies.  You want to make sure that you are dealing with a reputable company so get a referral if possible.  What you are interested in is that the people with whom you are going to deal with are punctual and won’t mess up with misspelled words. So be very specific with what you want from them and tell them that this is a surprise for your boyfriend. Spell out your name, your boyfriend’s name and the message that you want them to carry on a banner flying from the tail of an airplane.  Also let them know the exact time you want them to do the fly-over. Yes, that is the idea.  You want to tell your boyfriend, in full view of the whole world, that you love him. You can’t shout it from the highest roof tops, so why not flaunt it in the sky.

Ultimate Birthday Wishes For Boyfriend

So, if you want to do this on his birthday, and say your boyfriend’s name is James and you are Ashley, then write out the words “Happy Birthday, James.  I love You!  Ashley.”  Of course, if you want to do this Christmas then change it to “Merry Christmas, James.  I love You!  Ashley.”   And change it to the proper Valentine’s message if you want to do it in February

So, on that special day, say it is his birthday for instance, tell him that you want to celebrate the day with just the two of you. You prefer not to celebrate with a big party and lots of people.  You want this to be something intimate and private with him.  Tell him that you want to go on a picnic with him in a park, or maybe even to the beach, and you are packing a lunch for two.  You may want to include a bottle of wine, or sparkling cider if you prefer, in your picnic basket because you want to be toasting each other a bit later on.  And then just wait until you hear the sound of a plane at the time that you told the flying banner company to do the fly-over.  Then very innocently draw his attention to the plane.  And when it gets close enough to where you can read the letters on the banner, ask him to read them for you.  And when he does, and needless to say, does so with amazement and wonder in his voice and face, you should repeat the message right after he has read it.  Say it while you lovingly look into his eyes with a questioning look on your face.  I can guaranty that he finally will response with those very same sweet sounding words that you wanted to hear from him all along.

This is the experience I had with my then boyfriend, who has been my husband of 12 years now.  It was on his birthday that I did this.  And when he saw the plane and I asked him to read the message, he did not realize immediately that the message was meant for him until he read our names a couple of times.  I wish you could have seen his face.  He was so excited and kept pointing at the banner, asking me over and over:  “Is that from you for me.  Is that for me? Is that from you?”  He was so happy, and we laughed and cried, and kissed all at the same time.  He had never told me those three little words before.  He did not know that I felt the same about him.  He was too shy to be the first one to say them.  But that day, at that incredibly unforgettable moment, he said those three magical words; “I LOVE YOU!” They were the best birthday wishes for boyfriend that you could ever imagine.

Have You Ever Heard Of Such Amazing Gift Ideas For Boyfriend ?

That was undoubtedly the best day of our life.  It did cost quite a bit of money, but they were love gifts that certainly were worth every penny, and we never regretted one second of it.  We still talk about it, even now, as we cherish that sweet tender moment.

Time Again To Think Of Some Good Christmas Gifts !

It scares me when I think about how close we are to Christmas now and how fast this year has gone by.  Wasn’t it only summer not too long ago?  And now we are already facing the end of year holidays and all the festivities and gift giving that come with it.  I am reminded of last year’s Christmas, which was going to be my very first Christmas with Zachary, my boyfriend.  Around this same time of year I started thinking about what would be some unique Christmas gifts for Zach for Christmas. I always like to start early with finding Christmas presents, and just like last year, I realize that the time to do so is here now.  So, what can I buy for my boyfriend for Christmas this year is the question I ask myself again.  I can always do something like what I did last year, because there is never enough, or the exact same of that anyway.  I am talking about clothes, wonderful, new, spiffy clothes.  You see, Zach, my honey and my one and only guy, loves clothes and the snazzy accessories that go with nice clothes.  And one can never have enough new clothes, right?   Zach always looks neat and well-dressed, even on the weekends when he is in his “grubbies.”  I always have to laugh when he says he is ”in his grubbies,” because even dressed like that he often looks much better than the average Joe during the week.  Zach had already acquired a few nice dressy pants and jackets, but I knew that he really wanted to have a fashionable “GQ” kind of wardrobe.  The thing was though, that Zach had the taste of a Jaguar but still only had the pocket of a VW.  But what made me so proud of him, even then, was the fact that he did not indulge in buying things he could not afford.  He still will not go into debt, but he will wait until he has enough funds saved up to pay in full for his purchases.  This has really endeared Zach to me and makes me want to spend the rest of my life with him.  And we talk about that often.

Anyway, last year when we first started dating, Zach was still only a sales rep for one of the bigger credit card companies.   But he was promoted soon after and moved up the corporate ladder.  He told me how his boss noticed how well he had done in sales, and how much he had brought to the table for the company. He was one of the bigger producers and he had earned recognition and a promotion.  They gave him more responsibilities, a small office, a new title, and his salary too was bumped up to the next level.  All of that gave Zach a huge personal and moral boost.  He was super excited about his new status, and the first thing he wanted to do, after he found out about the promotion, was to go shopping for clothes.  He was always very conscious about his looks and how he presents himself, especially since he was going to join the other young execs in the company.

That is when the idea hit me last year about what gifts to buy him for Christmas.  Clothes, of course!  But not just any kind of nice clothes.  I wanted to surprise him with a few of pieces that would give him that GQ look that he likes so much.  And when I went shopping I actually found out that the GQ look in clothes and accessories doesn’t have to be outrageously expensive.  They do have to fit just right and must be color matching.  And accessorizing is the “in” thing that adds flash and character to the outfits.  I also learned that off-color suits are very popular and can be super stylish if matched with the right kind of shirt or tie. Of course I already happened to know the sizes of Zach’s clothes.  (This is a must for girls who are serious about their love relationships).  So I had a pretty good idea of what I could get that would fit him.  And boy, did I have a ball putting some things together that I knew he absolutely would love and would look great in. I found a great burgundy colored suit with a white shirt and navy tie, which is an absolutely gorgeous combination.  Also a white crisp pocket square, which gave the suit that finished and elegant look.  In the way of accessories I picked a thinly woven black leather bracelet, which gave the whole ensemble a subtle balance between the classy and the casual look, but also showed style and character.

When I gave Zach that very first Christmas present, he could not believe his eyes.  He could not wait to try everything on and was thrilled with the burgundy suit and the complete outfit.  We did have to take the suit to a tailor for minor alterations and to get that absolute perfect fit that is so important with GQ clothing.  But that was no big deal and did not take long to get done.  He loved the combination of the burgundy with the white and navy colors, and they looked terrific on him.  But what surprised me really was that he was so thrilled with the leather bracelet, which was his first accessory.  I could see the difference and change in Zach when he started wearing his new clothes.  These were good Christmas gifts and they really did give him the GQ look that he wanted to much.

The Right Clothes Can Be Unique Christmas Gifts

So, for this year, I will once again go on a shopping spree and find a few more sophisticated, spiffy and posh togs, and cool presents for Zach.  He wears the GQ style with pride and panache and looks dashing, elegant and just simply fabulous.

Need Some 25th Birthday Ideas For Boyfriend ?

A couple of months ago, Eric, my boyfriend, bought a previously owned truck in pretty good condition.  Of course, he would have loved to buy a brand spanking new truck, but that was just not in the cards.  They are so expensive, and besides, the one he bought came with a great price tag and a good warranty to boot.  He was driving a small economy car before this truck, which is his very first truck by the way, and he loves the difference between the two.  His truck is bigger and stronger, which makes him look bigger and stronger as well.  Not that he is not already big and strong, but that is just what a truck does to a guy.  It puts him on a higher level, status-wise. He keeps it super clean and washes it almost every weekend.  And then too, on the weekends he sometimes spends more than an hour waxing and polishing it.  He is so proud of his “new” truck and loves to take me out in it and show it off to his buddies.  Most of his friends own trucks as well, so they really bond in that macho way guys do, talking and bragging about trucks, theirs and others that they one day hope to own.

What Are Good 25th Birthday Gift Ideas For Boyfriend ?

So, when Eric’s 25th birthday came around, I asked myself:  “What are some good 25th birthday ideas for boyfriend Eric?” (that is my nickname for him, “boyfriend Eric”  LOL.   Especially for one who is so much into his truck and seems to be so content with what he has.  When I asked Eric what he wanted for his birthday, he said that he did not need anything.  You know, that is the kind of answer that drives you nuts because that’s no help at all.  Now you have to start imagining what it is you can get that will make the birthday boy happy. I just wanted to get something for him that he would enjoy and really love.  And what else would that be but something having to do with his truck:  his new all time favorite toy.  I even checked with my girlfriends whose boyfriends also owned trucks and I asked them:  “What should I buy for my boyfriend for his 25th birthday gift?”  They agreed that the best gift would be something for his truck.    So I started paying close attention to other trucks and what some of the extras were that they had that Eric’s truck did not.  And violà, I found just the right thing for him.

Truck Gifts Of Course!

I got him some LED Tailgate Light Bars!!!!   Yippee, that was such a brilliant idea.  Eric did not have anything like that yet.  His were the ordinary truck tailgate lights, and LED ones would spiff up the looks of his truck by 100%.  Especially at night, of course.

But oh boy, it was not easy to choose the right ones, because there are so many different kinds on the market.  I wanted to get some that were really cool looking and easy to install.  They had to have all the necessary functions and could not be too pricey.  I saw some that ranged from $60 all the way to a whopping $300, and it all depended on how fancy or how many extras you would want with the lights. The ones I selected are easily mounted under the truck’s tailgate, without having to do any drilling.  So there would be no accidental scratches during installation.  And there are three different lights with these bars: red for brakes, white for reverse, and amber for sequential turn signals.  How cool!  But what I really appreciate about these light bars is the fact that they make the vehicle more visible to other drivers, so that is a huge and important safety factor.  And one more plus with these lights is that they are waterproof, so there is no chance of them fading in the rain, or with frequent car washes.  Can you imagine washing your truck and as you do so, you see your light bars slowly fade and eventually disappear.  Some of the cheaper tailgate light bars actually do that.  But certainly not the ones I got for Jeff.  He is worth every extra dollar I spent on the durable, fancy ones.

So, when his birthday came around, I was the one who gave him his best lightsbirthday gift.  When he opened my gift, which I had carefully wrapped of course, he almost gasped.  He was sooooo surprised and happy.  He hugged and kissed me in front of all his friends and couldn’t wait to go outside and start installing the lights.  Everyone thought that they looked awesome and no one had thought about getting something like that for Eric, but li’l ole me.

That same night of his birthday, Eric and I took the truck out for its first ride with the new light bars, and boy, did Eric love what it could do.  We stopped on purpose at several spots in empty parking lots so he could see what the lights could do.  He especially liked the amber sequential turning lights; they drew so much more attention to wanting to make a turn than the old ones on his truck.  We turned left and then right to make sure the sequential lights would work both ways.  And of course, they did!   But he was also super excited about the white lights that come on when reversing the vehicle.  So we did a lot of stopping, playing with the turn signals, and driving the truck in reverse on that parking lot that evening of Eric’s 25th birthday.  It was such a fun and totally cool experience because I had found a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday that he liked more than anything else, from anybody else, that he got that day, or ever since.

These Ended Up Being Awesome 25th Birthday Gift Ideas For Boyfriend Eric

I think I did an outstanding job with making my boyfriend and his truck a truly happy man with these truck gifts.

Presents For Boyfriends To Keep Them Safe

What with the media showing news about so many disasters all over the world, there are constant warnings to prepare yourself and take all the necessary precautions in case of something hitting your own area.  Just think: we hear about earthquakes in Mexico, Tsunamis in Japan, nuclear threats from North Korea, weapons of mass destructions in Syria, and, closer to home, severe storms (Sandy) on our own East Coast, tornadoes in Oklahoma and fires in California.  What is this world coming to?  An end?  For sure not!  Many people survive and live through disaster.  More and more, especially in the United States we are made aware of the necessity to prepare ourselves for any and all of these destructive events.  Students from kindergarten through college go through drills at school on how to seek shelter, how to protect themselves and how to survive.  They learn what to do in case of a disaster.  As an elementary teacher myself, I regularly go through disaster preparedness training with my students.  I have been trained with a certain amount of knowledge and expertise on how to survive should we be threatened by any one of these calamities. And I personally keep a fully stocked survival kit in the trunk of my car, together with a sturdy pair of walking shoes.  A second pair of good shoes I keep under my bed.  Just imagine, if an earthquake or heavy storm hits, there may be broken glass laying around everywhere.  You can’t walk around bare-footed or in slippers – you would get bleeding soles immediately and would not be able to be of any help anywhere.  Be prepared is what I caution people.

I was not sure if my boyfriend, Joseph, had taken any steps toward getting some sort of survival kit together for himself.  You see, Joseph is a musician.  He does gigs with his jazz band on weekends in local bistros, and during the week he teaches guitar lessons at home.  He does not occupy himself with thoughts about the need to stock up on survival items in case of natural disasters. He’s got other things on his mind that are more important to him, like finding new locations for his band to play on weekends, and signing up new students wanting to learn how to play the guitar.  I wanted to do something for Joseph so that he would at least have some necessities on him in case of a disaster.  And when the holidays came around last year I asked myself:  What can I give him for Christmas that would be an appropriate disaster preparedness gift.  I found the answer and just knew he would like it a lot: a 72-hour Disaster Survival Kit of course!

I shopped around and found this neat looking small backpack that would hold the necessary items for immediate as well as somewhat long-term use.  I stocked it with food bars, small water boxes with straws, a first-aid kit, a USB device charger that never needs batteries and that can charge his smart phone.  This is absolutely necessary for communication needs.  I also included a small hand-cranked radio, a Swiss army knife, a blanket, a flashlight that also can be hand-cranked, a whistle, work gloves, a couple of light sticks, a small fold-up tent, and a plastic hooded poncho.  These items will provide him shelter and keep him safe for at least 3 – 5 days, should he or his area get hit by a catastrophic event.

But all this stuff was so mundane, and so blah to give as presents for boyfriends.  These are not things that are fun to give as a present.  They are what they are: necessities!  So I devised a way that surprised Joseph so much that he could not even guess in a million years what I had gotten him.  What happened is that I noticed that when he went to his weekly jazz sessions, his guitar bag was in pretty bad shape.  It looked old, was worn, and did not look like something a professional musician would carry with him.  Again, Joseph did not even realize that it was in such sad condition.  He’s got music on his mind, and not a guitar bag.  Well, I found this really cool looking acoustic guitar padded gig bag that has a strap for easy carrying.  It was bigger than the backpack I had filled with all the survival items.  That small backpack fit just right inside the gig bag.  Voilà:  backpack went inside gigbag.  I congratulated myself on coming up with this clever idea for Joseph’s Christmas gift.  And I would not come across like some dull, unimaginative sort of person. Christmas wrapping paper with musical notes on it completed the disguise of my “double-edged” gift.

Christmas Gifts For Men That Make A Difference

So when he unwrapped his Christmas gifts he was really stoked with his new guitar bag, and wanted to switch from the old to the new bag right away.  But how strange, the new one felt kind of unusually heavy.  I still can see the surprise on his face when he found the backpack and contents inside the gig bag.  He looked at each survival item individually and even tried out hand-cranking the radio and flashlight.  He could not get over the fact that, yes, indeed, these were all items one would need for immediate survival.  He confessed that he just never thought about getting something like that for himself.  And to get all that inside a gig bag was really the high point of his Christmas day.  He told me that, when he needs it, he will find survival in his guitar bag.  What better way to do so for a musician.

So, for me, the question of what to get my boyfriend for Christmas was taken care of splendidly!

When It Comes To 25th Birthday Presents, This One Takes The Cake!

You won’t believe what I thought up for my boyfriend’s 25th birthday  gift ideas.  I had been thinking and thinking:  What is a good gift for a boyfriend for his birthday.  I talked to my friends, and I talked to his friends, but they all gave me such blah gift ideas.  A new shirt, or another new piece of clothing, a set of DVD’s, a dinner for two at a nice restaurant, etc.  I did not like any of those ideas. They sounded so lame.  I wanted something entirely different, something exciting, something that would be fun and unforgettable for Kevin.  And while watching TV one evening, I got these brilliant birthday ideas.  It had nothing to do with the TV, but it was just that I was daydreaming while watching, and something clicked.  I just knew that I had come up with THE best present ever for my boyfriend.  Kevin does love new experiences, new toys, new things, and most of all new sensations.   No girls, it was not a whole day of decadent luxury at a day spa, and, heaven forbid, not a ménage à trois either.  He is not into that sort of thing.  My super duper gift that day was that I arranged for him to have the amazing breathtaking experience of going skydiving.

Now I ask you:  How many guys have had a 25th birthday gift that took them 18,000 feet up in the sky.  How many had the experience of flying like a bird, freefalling for about 40 seconds at 120 miles per hour, and taking in a 250 degree panoramic view of nothing but clear blue skies. I bet not many of your boyfriends have had that thrill.

But I had to do some research about first time skydiving and safety.  So I found out that for a first jump, people don’t go solo.  They have to go with a jumpmaster, who is certified by the U.S. Parachute Association.  I also learned that the aircraft and pilot with whom Kevin would be flying must be recognized by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Those are the precautions I was looking for because, of course, I did not want Kevin to be in any kind of danger.

So I contacted the airfield where Kevin was going to do his skydiving and made reservations about a month in advance.  I wanted to make sure that Kevin could do his first jump on his birthday, so he could always remember that date.  I also made sure that the jumpmaster, the aircraft and pilot would all be available for Kevin’s maiden jump.  That was the first step in making this surprise come true.

But then I had to find a way to get Kevin to the airfield without telling him why we were going there.  That was not so easy to do.  But after racking my brain for quite some time, I found a really sneaky way of getting him there.  I told him that, on his birthday, I wanted to watch the sunrise with him.  I said that it would be a really wonderful memory-making moment for both of us and something we would remember for a long time:  being together, on his birthday, watching the sun rise.  I made it sound romantic to him.  I wanted to have this sweet sensation of something like a new beginning for the two of us.  And I told him that the best location for watching an awesome sunrise would be the airfield.  There we would have no obstructions of tall trees or high electricity poles or wires.  It would be just the two of us, the open sky, and the sun coming up in the east.  Kevin thought that was an excellent idea and he too could hardly wait for the day to get here.  Little did he know …

The Results Of My Birthday Ideas

We got to the airfield before daybreak and waited for the sun to come up.  We held hands while we watched this every day phenomenon on the horizon and sighed when the sun finally fulfilled its promise of giving us another glorious day. It was a magical moment for us, and something we will treasure forever.  That’s why I waited a few minutes before telling Kevin the real reason of why we were at that specific location.  He could not believe his ears and was beside himself and impatient to get to the aircraft.  But it was still too early and we had to wait an hour or so before we got to the time of Kevin’s reservation for his first jump.  But finally, it seemed like an eternity, the time had come.

The jumpmaster welcomed us, congratulated Kevin on his birthday, and on the fact that he was going to have his very first skydiving experience.  He told Kevin that because he had never done this before, he had to spend about 15 minutes or so on instructions.  And also because this was his first dive, he could not go solo, but would need hands-on guidance during the dive.  He would start with a tandem dive with the jumpmaster strapped to his back.

It was just great seeing Kevin so excited as he put on the sky diving gear, get in the plane and take off for that  ultimate sensation of his very first skydiving experience.  And when he appeared in the sky, flying freely , arms outstretched, head held high, hair blowing in the wind, I knew he was on cloud nine, almost literally so.  And the whole time that they were in the sky, the sd_1jumpmaster had a camera positioned so that the entire dive was recorded with Kevin in focus.   After they parachuted back to earth, Kevin hugged me so tight, I almost died.  It was such an exhilarating experience for him, and he would be able to relive it often.  There was the video that his instructor had taken of him while he was in the air.  Kevin told me that he never felt so free, floating in the wild blue yonder, taking in a view that is possible only from such soaring heights, and screaming with delight at the wonder of sailing in air and wind.  He did not want it to end, and could not stop talking about it.  He called it his greatest and most thrilling life experience. He was a flying man and now knew what it felt like to fly like a bird.  He wants to do it again, but this time, he wants me to go with him.  We made a promise of doing that soon.

This Was One Of The Best 25th Birthday Gift Ideas

Now, if you ask yourself what a great gift idea would be for a boyfriend’s 25th birthday presents, why not give him the gift of the ultimate sensation of unstrained freedom in the air.

Christmas Gifts For Boyfriend Are Tough Every Year

Now that the stores are beginning to display their wares for the holidays, I am reminded of last year Christmas gift ideas and what I got Tyler, my boyfriend for Christmas. I knew that Tyler is really a picky sort of guy, so I wanted his Christmas gift to be something that he would truly like.  I kept thinking and wondering: What is a good thing to get my boyfriend for Christmas.  Often when you give someone something that you think they like, they thank you politely, but then, in their heart they don’t really have any use for that.  Tyler is a sweet guy; he would never let me know if he doesn’t like the gift I gave him for fear of hurting my feelings. So I knew that I had to come up with something unique and different, maybe even something that would wow him.  He likes nice things and things that are unusual.  Most of his stuff he buys himself, so I thought that he might have something specific in mind for me to buy for him.  I wanted to be safe and decided to ask him what he wanted for his Christmas present.  Well, he said: “Why don’t you surprise me.”  Of course, that was not what I wanted him to say, because I needed some kind of an idea from him; some kind of clue that would help me find a present for him.  But alas, no such luck.  So I was faced with the dilemma of what to buy for my boyfriend.

Well, I went shopping for ideas in malls, at boutiques, open markets and specialty shops, hoping to find something that would strike me as that one special gift for my special guy.  It wasn’t easy, and it took quite some time, but I was so thrilled with what I ultimately came up with.  Because I knew that this was something that Tyler would truly like.  He would not just give me a polite and sweet “Thank You,” but he would actually think that it was the best gift ever.  He would even be able to make a statement with what I had in mind for him. I was sure of what to buy as Christmas gifts for boyfriend Tyler.

In my many shopping trips I found a really cool shoe store that sold all types of athletic shoe styles and sizes, and I poked my head inside.  I was thinking that maybe I would find something there for Tyler.  What actually piqued my curiosity was that there were quite a few customers sitting at a large work bench at the end of the store.  I couldn’t see very well what they were doing, so, nosy that I am, I walked over and saw what was going on.  These guys were all “styling” their brand new sneakers with designs made from studs, crystals, glitter, spikes, grommets, sequins, stencils, beadings, paints, and other fun stuff.  All those items were provided by the store, once you bought a pair of shoes from them. They also had the tools right there that were necessary to attach the decorations to the shoes.  I saw a lot of really cool and unique designs; they were all one-of-a kind, specific to the person’s idea and style.  One guy was working on putting spikes along the heel of the shoes, which made them look like “spoilers.”  Another was putting grommets on the sides, which gave the shoes a real “macho” look.  Someone else was painting a name towards the heel of the shoe.  It could have been his own name or that of a girlfriend.  And then I noticed the name of a basketball team painted on the side of someone else’ shoes.  I saw a lot of neat ideas that gave the shoes a definite customized look.  All great stuff!!!!  I knew right away that I finally had found what to get for Tyler’s Christmas gift.  Of course he had to create his own design, and he would have to come to this particular shoe store.

So a week before Christmas I asked Tyler to go Christmas shopping with me, and we went to that same shoe store.  He was amazed at what he saw and what he could do with a pair of plain sneakers.  I told him then that my Christmas gift for him was to select a pair of shoes he wanted and then create his own design with the fun stuff on the work bench.  What I did not tell him at that time was that I too had already chosen a pair of shoes for myself to decorate, so he and I could do shoe styling together.  I wanted this to be something for the two of us to do together.  So, when I finally did tell him, he could not wait to get his hands on the stuff for us to start working on our shoes together.

These Are Practically Homemade Christmas Gifts

I still remember how much fun we had doing that.  It was almost like making homemade Christmas gifts.  Tyler had selected a pair of high top sneakers and carefully sponge painted them in a mix of colors to give them a psychedelic kind of look. I did not know he was so creative: they looked amazing!  I had picked a pair of light blue sneakers and glued some crystals to the tips, which came out really looking cool and classy.  No one else has sneakers like ours and we just love the customized look on our shoes.  Tyler wears his all the time and gets a lot of compliments, especially when he lets them know that he created the look himself.

These Are Unforgettable Christmas Gift Ideas

So, if you are wondering what to get your boyfriend for Christmas, go sneaker shopping and create an unforgettable fun time designing your own fun, statement-making shoes.  We did it and we still talk about how much we enjoyed the experience.

Need Some 21st Birthday Ideas For Your Guy?

If your boyfriend has a birthday coming up and you ask yourself: “What is a clever gift for a boyfriend?” why not give him a birthday bash.  I don’t mean just any kind of birthday party – this one is a really clever one.  He will be so impressed with your creative idea.  And he will be such a popular guy with everyone.  Because if you do what I did for my boyfriend’s 21st birthday, the party will be an eternally unforgettable one.   All his friends will be talking about it for years!  But the thing is, you must make it a surprise party.  He should not know anything about it until the day of.  That’s what makes this such a clever gift for your boyfriend.  Your party for him is a Zombies versus Kardashians birthday bash.

Start with sending out the invitations to all his friends and yours as well, at least 3 weeks in advance.  They need time for preparations and creative juices to flow.  Your invitations should have specific instructions because this will be a fantasy-themed birthday party.  Instructions for the guys would be to dress up like zombies.  They should put lots of fake blood on their faces, letting it run from their ears and noses and oozing out of their mouths.  They should have their hair looking dirty, making it stand straight up and messed up with moose to make it look yucky.  The idea is for them to look gory and bloody.  Maybe some black make-up around the eyes will help to make them look scary.  Their clothes should be tattered, grubby and grimy looking.  They should look like real zombies: survivors of some kind of disease that killed their brain and sense of reason.  And when they arrive at the party, they should come stumbling in, as if they were on their last leg.

Invitations to the gals will let them know that they should come dressed like wanna-be Kardashians.  They have a choice of imitations of Kim, Khloé or 21st birthday giftsKourtney.  Or, if they like, they can even come like the girls’ Mom, Kris Jenner, or the two younger daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.  (They sure must like the letter “K” a lot).  They should dress in stuff that would definitely draw immediate attention: sexy, provocative, and playful to say the least. They should come to the party looking stunning enough to make the Zombies gasp.  You know what I mean, right?  Cleavage, skin, booty and bling.  Extra eyelashes, hair extensions, and anything else that they can think of which will complete the outfits. The more the better.

The stark difference between the guys and gals will be hilarious and fun.

Now, for my boyfriend’s 21st birthday party I rented a room in one of our local restaurants and my girlfriends and I decorated it with candles placed in fake skulls.  We kept the lights dim and played haunting music while the guests entered through the door.  Later on after the party was in full swing, we of course changed the music to better stuff for dancing.  But that was only after the competition was over.  Yes, we had a competition of who was dressed as the goriest zombie, and who came as the most glamorous wanna-be Kardashian.  We had zombies judge Kardashians, and vice versa, had the gals judge the zombies.  That was a load of fun because we all got to admire and critique each guest very carefully but not really seriously. But the best sight was to see those ugly, miserable looking zombies dance with some of the most glitzy gals around.  Some even danced check-to-cheek; that was just crazy.

Super Clever 21st Birthday Celebration

So, if you are looking for clever 21st birthday ideas for your boyfriend’s birthday, and you want it to be something that he will talk about for a long time, and that can’t be topped by any other gift, do the themed party bash.  Just think, because you, his girlfriend, had this awesome idea, you gave all his friends the opportunity to have a hand in making your man’s birthday celebration a fantastic and memorable success.  Those guys will just be stoked about such a creative thought.  Guys may not think about such a thing themselves, but they do love being part of it.  And your boyfriend will know that no one will ever duplicate this kind of party.  That would be a lame thing to do.  And don’t forget to have someone take pictures so you can reminisce about these moments long into the future when you and your boyfriend can relive every funny moment of this evening.

This will be one of the best and most unique, one-of-a-kind, phenomenal 21st birthday party ideas, and you, as the organizer, will eventually end up as the hero!

Tough Time Thinking Of Valentines Gifts For Him?

Would a diamond be a good Valentine’s Day gift?

That is a great question, and I think I have the answer because that’s what I gave my boyfriend, Mason, for our first Valentine’s Day together.

I met Mason 18 months ago in a nightclub with a couple of my friends.  He was there as well with a couple of his friends.  The six of us struck up a conversation and we all seemed pretty compatible so we ended up going to dinner that same b_1night.  It was a fun night as we all love sports and football in particular.  Conversation was great, and it looked as if Mason and I liked the same team.  So I thought that he and I could really have a good time talking about the games, the players, and some of their more memorable moments.  But strangely enough, during that dinner date, Mason actually said very little and didn’t really offer any valuable insights into his opinions or thoughts.  He seemed stand-offish and morose, which I thought rude.  He was part of the six of us and didn’t really participate much in any of our conversations.  So I just left him to his own thoughts and had fun with the other five friends the rest of the evening.  We had a great time, even without Mason fully joining us in the fun.

It wasn’t a week later that Mason called to ask me out.  He mentioned wanting to take me for a walk on his alma mater’s campus grounds where he could show me some of the world famous sculptures there.  We could go to dinner afterwards, just the two of us.  He said that he thought I might like that.  I was really bowled over by his call and it took me a while to get back to him.  I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend time alone with this person who came across as rude when first we met.  But his suggestion of a totally different kind of date intrigued me.  He wanted to show me pieces of art, and then go to dinner afterwards.  I felt as if there were more to this guy who did not talk much on that first get together with friends.  Maybe he was not rude, it just seemed that way.  Maybe he was the shy type. I should at least find out.  So I decided that there was no harm in looking at sculptures and working up a good appetite for dinner afterwards.  So I accepted.

That was a year and-a-half ago.  Mason and I have been together ever since.  We are dating exclusively now, and I know that he is THE guy for me.  He is the one and only.  He is not at all rude or morose.  He just is a private sort of person, quiet but still with a lot to say.  He may seem to have a rough exterior, but his exceptional values and character are not so deeply hidden. I think of him as my Diamond in the Rough who became my 24 Karat Gem!

Mason and I talked about that first day we met in the nightclub with our friends.  He was so quiet and seemed not to want to join in on our conversation.  I told him that I thought him rude for keeping so quiet.  He said that he is not really very animated in groups of people but does better on a one-on-one basis.  He did not want to make the wrong impression on me with all sorts of pompous comments about football games and players.  He liked me right away he said, but did not feel comfortable asking me out with all the others around us.  He wanted to take me on a date by himself and not in a group. He wanted me to see his true personality and share some of his other interests with me.  Well, we found out that we have so much in common.  Football was only one of the many topics we covered in our talks.  We talked about art and music and travels.  We discussed our feelings for each other, which became quite apparent real soon into our second date.  And I told Mason that I saw him as a diamond in the rough:   a person who at first glance made the impression of being rude or abrasive.  But then, as I got to know him better and saw his true character, he didn’t seem so bad after all.  In fact, he is quite the opposite of that first impression.  He is a really nice guy, kind, attentive, gentle and someone with whom I have fallen in love.

The First Of My Valentines Gifts

So, when Valentine’s Day came around, and this was our first Valentine’s Day that we were celebrating together, I gave Mason a beautiful round black diamond men’s single stud earring in 14 karat gold.  We all struggle with what to get your boyfriend for Valentines day but this one was a hit.  I presented my Valentines gifts for him in a small jewelry box with my Valentine’s Day message that read:  Happy Valentine’s Day to My Diamond in the Rough Man!”  Mason loved the gift, especially knowing the loving meaning that went with the message.  He wears his earring a lot.  And we are still inseparable: me and my 24 karat man.
